Recent landscape paintings have been inspired by shifting light, which plays a crucial role in how we perceive the world around us. It alters the colors, textures, and atmosphere of a landscape, reminding us that our environment is constantly in flux. This ever-changing light mirrors the transient nature of life itself. In this way, Alice's work connects to the bigger picture of how we all belong together, part of an interconnected world that is constantly shifting and evolving. These shifts—whether in nature or in our own lives—serve as reminders of our shared experience, grounding us in the present while also linking us to the past and future.
Through creating negative space and window-like openings Alice invites the viewer to enter into the image, creating a shared experience and sense of place.
